Biography of Sergej Mergeljan

Sergej Mergeljan (* 19. May 1928 in Simferopol; † 20. August 2008 in Los Angeles) was a sowjetischer Mathematiker. He was 80 years old. His education included Yerevan State University and Steklov Institute of Mathematics. He worked at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Yerevan Computer Research and Development Institute, Steklov Institute of Mathematics, Academy of Sciences of the USSR and National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. His awards include Stalin Prize, 2nd degree, Order of St. Mesrop Mashtots and Order of the Red Banner of Labour. He was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
