Biography
Shiing-Shen Chern (* October 26, 1911 in Jiaxing; † December 3, 2004 in Tianjin) was a chinese-American mathematician and poet. He was 93 years old. He was married to Zheng Shining. His education included Tsinghua University, University of Hamburg, Nankai University and Science Faculty of Paris. His faith was atheism. He received 10 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, National Medal of Science. His cause of death was heart failure. He was buried at tomb of Shiing-Shen Chern.
