Biography of Shimada Kōson

Shimada Kōson (* 6. October 1838 in Ōsaki; † 27. August 1898 in Koishikawa-ku) was a japanese sinologist. He was 59 years old. He studied at Shōheizaka Gakumonjo. He worked at Gaikoku bugyō, Tokyo Higher Normal School, Tokyo Women's Higher Normal School, Gakushūin and University of Tokyo. His awards include Order of the Sacred Treasure, 3rd class and Order of the Sacred Treasure, 4th class. He was buried at Tennō-ji Temple.
