Kaneto Shindō (* April 22, 1912 in Hiroshima; † May 29, 2012 in Tokyo) was a japanese film director, screenwriter, film producer, and author.. He was 100 years old. He was married to Nobuko Otowa. He received 7 awards, including Order of Culture, Japan Academy Prize for Director of the Year.
