Susan Sontag (* 16. January 1933 in New York City; † 28. December 2004 in New York City) was an american writer and filmmaker, professor, and activist. She was 71 years old. She was married to Philip Rieff. Her education included University of Paris, Harvard University, University of Oxford, University of Chicago, University of California, Berkeley, St Anne's College and North Hollywood High School. She received 10 awards, including Jerusalem Prize, Princess of Asturias Literary Prize. Her cause of death was leukemia. She was buried at Montparnasse Cemetery.
