Tom Burnett (* 29. May 1963 in Bloomington; † 11. September 2001 in Shanksville) was a vice president and COO of a Pleasanton, California, medical devices company, Thoratec Corporation. He was 38 years old. His education included University of Minnesota, Pepperdine University, College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University and Bloomington Jefferson High School. He worked at Thoratec. He was awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. His cause of death was aircraft crash. He was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
