Biography of Val Deakin

Val Deakin (* 27. December 1935 in New Plymouth; † 23. May 2025) was a ballet teacher and founder of the Val Deakin Theatre Trust; recipient of a New Zealand Suffrage Medal 1993. She was 89 years old. Her education included Arts Educational Schools and Royal Ballet School. She worked at Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet and National Ballet of Washington, D.C.. Her awards include New Zealand Suffrage Centennial Medal 1993 and Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
