Vassily Gorban (* 12. March 1918 in Kuvandyksky District; † 9. May 1977 in Moscow) was a hero of the Soviet Union, Major General. He was 59 years old. His education included Military Academy of Armored Forces and Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. He received 10 awards, including Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945", Order of the Red Banner. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Preobrazhenskoye Cemetery.
