His education included University of Texas at Austin, San Jacinto High School, Moody College of Communication and Ella J. Baker Montessori School. His faith was Episcopal Church. He received 9 awards, including Presidential Medal of Freedom, Great Silver Medal of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. His cause of death was stroke. He was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
