Biography of William Hayward Pickering

William Hayward Pickering (* 24. December 1910 in Wellington; † 15. March 2004 in La Cañada Flintridge) was a neuseeländischer Physiker und Weltraumpionier. He was 93 years old. His education included California Institute of Technology and University of Canterbury. He worked at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received 10 awards, including Edison Medal, Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. His cause of death was pneumonia.
