Albert O. Hirschman (* 7. April 1915 in Berlin; † 10. December 2012 in Ewing Township) was a german-American economist; member of the French Resistance. He was 97 years old. His education included London School of Economics and Political Science, HEC Paris, University of Trieste, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Französisches Gymnasium Berlin. He received 10 awards, including Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought, Honorary doctor of the Free University of Berlin.
