Biography of Alexander Altmann

Alexander Altmann (* 16. April 1906 in Košice; † 6. June 1987 in Boston) was a österreichischer Judaist und Rabbiner. He was 81 years old. His education included Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Hildesheimer Rabbinical Seminary. He worked at Harvard University, Brandeis University and Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums. His faith was Judaism. His awards include Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Fellow of the Medieval Academy of America.
