Biography of Alexander Friedenstein

Alexander Friedenstein (* 24. June 1924 in Kyiv; † 31. August 1997 in Moscow) was a founder of the mesenchymal stem cell concept. He was 73 years old. His education included I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and S. M. Kirov Military Medical Academy. He worked at MSU Faculty of Biology. He was buried at Kuntsevo Cemetery.
