Biography of Alija Izetbegović

Alija Izetbegović (* 8. August 1925 in Šamac; † 19. October 2003 in Sarajevo) was a bosnian politician, lawyer, philosopher and author. He was 78 years old. His education included Faculty of Law (University of Sarajevo) and University of Sarajevo. His faith was Sunni Islam. He received 8 awards, including King Faisal International Prize in Service to Islam, Grand Order of Queen Jelena. His cause of death was cardiovascular disease. He was buried at Kovači Cemetery.
