Allen Tate (* 19. November 1899 in Winchester; † 9. February 1979 in Nashville) was an uS-amerikanischer Dichter und Hochschullehrer. He was 79 years old. He was married to Caroline Gordon and Isabella Stewart Gardner. His education included University of Cincinnati, Vanderbilt University, Georgetown University, University of Virginia and Georgetown Preparatory School. He worked at University of Minnesota system, University of Minnesota and University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He received 5 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, Rome Prize.
