Charles Bingham Penrose (* 1. February 1862 in Philadelphia; † 28. February 1925) was an american gynecologist known for inventing the Penrose drain. He was 63 years old. He was married to Katherine Drexel Penrose. He had at least 2 children (1 son and 1 daughter). His education included Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University. He worked at Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded the Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
