

Französischer Mathematiker und Astronom
Charles Eugène Delaunay (* 9. April 1816 in Lusigny-sur-Barse; † 5. August 1872 in Cherbourg) was a französischer Mathematiker und Astronom. He was 56 years old. His education included École polytechnique, Mines ParisTech, University of Paris and Lycée Charlemagne. He worked at Paris Observatory, PSL University, University of Paris, Mines ParisTech and École polytechnique. He received 5 awards, including Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society, Foreign Member of the Royal Society. His cause of death was drowning.
