Daniel Defert (* 10. September 1937 in Avallon; † 7. February 2023 in Paris) was a französischer Soziologe und Aids-Aktivist. He was 85 years old. He studied at École normale supérieure de lettres et sciences humaines. He worked at Paris 8 University. His awards include Knight of the Legion of Honour and Officer of the National Order of Merit. He was buried at Cemetery of Montillot.
