Biography of Edith Hesling

Edith Hesling (* 22. June 1899 in Flixton; † 19. June 1971 in Manchester) was a first woman called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn, first woman to appear at the Manchester Bar, first woman to preside over the County Court as a Deputy Judge. She was 71 years old. She was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
