Eduard Stiefel (* 21. April 1909 in Zurich; † 25. November 1978 in Zurich) was a schweizer Mathematiker. He was 69 years old. His education included ETH Zurich, University of Hamburg and University of Göttingen. He worked at ETH Zurich and Swiss Armed Forces. His awards include Honorary doctorate from the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and honorary doctor of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He was buried at Cemetery Witikon.
