Eldar Shengelaya (* 26. January 1933 in Tbilisi; † 4. August 2025 in Tbilisi) was a soviet and Georgian film director, screenwriter. He was 92 years old. He was married to Ariadna Shengelaya. He studied at Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. He received 9 awards, including USSR State Prize, People's Artist of the USSR. He was buried at Didube Pantheon.
