Elizabeth Catlett (* 15. April 1915 in Washington, D.C.; † 2. April 2012 in Cuernavaca) was a black American-born Mexican artist. She was 96 years old. She was married to Francisco Mora. Her education included Howard University, University of Iowa, Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado La Esmeralda and Dunbar High School. Her awards include Candace Award, Women's Caucus for Art Lifetime Achievement Award and honorary degree from Spelman College.
