Ernesto Cardenal (* 20. January 1925 in Granada; † 1. March 2020 in Managua) was a nicaraguan priest and politician. He was 95 years old. His education included Columbia University, Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, UNAM and Colegio Centro América. His faith was Catholicism. He received 10 awards, including Order of Augusto César Sandino, Peace Prize of the German Publishers' and Booksellers' Association. His cause of death was chronic renal insufficiency.
