Biography of Ernst Robert Curtius

Ernst Robert Curtius (* 14. April 1886 in Thann; † 19. April 1956 in Rome) was a gelehrter und Romanist. He was 70 years old. He was married to Ilse Curtius. His education included University of Bonn, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and University of Strasbourg. He worked at University of Bonn, Heidelberg University and University of Marburg. He received 4 awards, including Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Corresponding Fellow of the Medieval Academy of America. He was buried at Hauptfriedhof Freiburg.
