Deutsch-amerikanischer Kunsthistoriker
Erwin Panofsky (* 30. March 1892 in Hanover; † 14. March 1968 in Princeton) was a deutsch-amerikanischer Kunsthistoriker. He was 75 years old. He was married to Dora Panofsky. He had at least 2 children (2 sons). His education included University of Freiburg, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He worked at Princeton University, Harvard University, University of Hamburg, New York University and Institute for Advanced Study. His awards include Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Haskins Medal and Corresponding Fellow of the Medieval Academy of America.
