Françoise Héritier (* 15. November 1934 in Veauche; † 15. November 2017 in Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital) was a french anthropologist. She was 83 years old. She was married to Michel Izard. Her education included École pratique des hautes études, Lycée Fénelon, Paris and Lycée Racine. She received 7 awards, including Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour. She was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery.
