Biography of Friedrich Engel

Friedrich Engel (* 26. December 1861 in Lugau; † 29. September 1941 in Giessen) was a deutscher Mathematiker. He was 79 years old. His education included Leipzig University and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He worked at Leipzig University, University of Giessen and University of Greifswald. His awards include Knight of the Order of St. Olav‎, Lobachevsky Prize and honorary doctorate of the University of Oslo.
