Friedrich Hund (* 4. February 1896 in Karlsruhe; † 31. March 1997 in Göttingen) was a deutscher Physiker. He was 101 years old. He was married to Ingeborg Seynsche. His education included Leipzig University, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, University of Rostock and University of Göttingen. He worked at Goethe University Frankfurt, Leipzig University, University of Göttingen, Friedrich Schiller University Jena and University of Rostock. He received 5 awards, including Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, National Prize of East Germany.
