He was married to Liu Yunsheng. He had at least 2 children (1 son and 1 daughter). He studied at Baoding Military Academy. His awards include Order of Blue Sky and White Sun, Order of National Glory and Order of Liberation. He was buried at Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.
