George Emil Palade (* 19. November 1912 in Iași; † 7. October 2008 in Del Mar) was a romanian cell biologist, physician and Nobel laureate. He was 95 years old. He was married to Marilyn Farquhar. His education included University of Bucharest and Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu National College. His faith was Eastern Orthodox Church. He received 10 awards, including Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research. He was buried at Bucegi Mountains.
