George Stigler (* 17. January 1911 in Seattle; † 1. December 1991 in Chicago) was an amerikanischer Ökonom der Chicagoer Schule. He was 80 years old. His education included University of Washington, Northwestern University, University of Chicago and Kellogg School of Management. He worked at University of Chicago and Columbia University. He received 7 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. His cause of death was heart failure.
