George Wald (* 18. November 1906 in New York City; † 12. April 1997 in Cambridge) was an uS-amerikanischer Physiologe, Biologe, Biochemiker und Nobelpreisträger. He was 90 years old. His education included Columbia University, New York University and Brooklyn Technical High School. He worked at Harvard University and University of Chicago. His faith was atheism. He received 6 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research. He was buried at Woods Hole Village Cemetery.
