His education included Baku State University and Institute of State and Law. He worked at Politizdat, Պոլիտիչեսկոյե սամոօբրազովանիե, Problems of Peace and Socialism, International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and The Gorbachev Foundation. He received 10 awards, including Order of the Red Star, USSR State Prize. He was buried at Troyekurovskoye cemetery.
