Biography of Gian-Carlo Rota

Gian-Carlo Rota (* 27. April 1932 in Vigevano; † 18. April 1999 in Cambridge) was an italienisch-amerikanischer Mathematiker. He was 66 years old. His education included Princeton University, Yale University and Colegio Americano de Quito. He worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Courant Institute School of Mathematics, Computing, and Data Science, Harvard University and The Rockefeller University. He received 4 awards, including honorary doctor of the Nankai University, Leroy P. Steele Prize. He was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
