Biography of Gotō Shimpei

Gotō Shimpei (* 24. July 1857 in Mizusawa; † 13. April 1929 in University Hospital, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine) was a japanischer Mediziner und Politiker der Taishō-Zeit und Bürgermeister von Tokio. He was 71 years old. He studied at Iwase General Hospital. He worked at Takushoku University and Nagoya University School of Medicine. His awards include Order of the Rising Sun, 1st class and Order of the Rising Sun with Paulownia Flowers, 1st class. His cause of death was intracranial hemorrhage. He was buried at Aoyama Cemetery.
