Biography of Gustav Poel

Gustav Poel (* 2. August 1917 in Hamburg; † 16. January 2009 in Hamburg) was a deutscher Marineoffizier und U-Bootkommandant im 2. Weltkrieg. He was 91 years old. His education included RWTH Aachen University and Naval Academy at Mürwik. He received 4 awards, including Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, German Cross in Gold.
