Biography of Helmut Walcha

Helmut Walcha (* 27. October 1907 in Leipzig; † 11. August 1991 in Frankfurt) was a deutscher Organist, Cembalist und Komponist. He was 83 years old. He studied at University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. He worked at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. He received 5 awards, including Hessian Order of Merit, Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
