Biography of Herbert von Karajan

Herbert von Karajan (* 5. April 1908 in Salzburg; † 16. July 1989 in Anif) was a österreichischer Dirigent. He was 81 years old. He was married to Elmy Holgerloef and Anita von Karajan. His education included Mozarteum University Salzburg and University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He received 7 awards, including honorary citizen of Berlin, Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His cause of death was myocardial infarction.
