Hermann von Helmholtz (* 31. August 1821 in Potsdam; † 8. September 1894 in Charlottenburg) was a deutscher Physiologe und Physiker. He was 73 years old. He was married to Anna von Helmholtz and Olga von Helmholtz. He had at least 4 children (3 sons and 1 daughter). His education included Hermann-von-Helmholtz-Gymnasium, Frederick William University Berlin and Pépinière. He worked at University of Bonn, Heidelberg University, Frederick William University Berlin, Charité, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, University of Königsberg and Prussian Army. He received 9 awards, including Copley Medal, Faraday Lectureship Prize. He was buried at Friedhof Wannsee, Lindenstraße.
