Humphrey Carpenter (* 29. April 1946 in Oxford; † 4. January 2005 in Oxford) was a british writer and broadcaster. He was 58 years old. He was married to Mari Christina Prichard. His education included Keble College, Dragon School and Marlborough College. His awards include E. M. Forster Award, Somerset Maugham Award and Duff Cooper Prize. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Wolvercote Cemetery.
