Biography of Iris Murdoch

Iris Murdoch (* 15. July 1919 in Dublin; † 8. February 1999 in Oxford) was an anglo-irische Schriftstellerin und Philosophin. She was 79 years old. She was married to John Bayley. Her education included Badminton School, Somerville College, Newnham College and Ibstock Place School. She worked at University of Oxford and St Anne's College. She received 5 awards, including Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Her cause of death was Alzheimer's disease. She was buried at Oxford Crematorium.
