James Batcheller Sumner (* 19. November 1887 in Canton; † 12. August 1955 in Buffalo) was an uS-amerikanischer Chemiker, Nobelpreis für Chemie. He was 67 years old. His education included Harvard Medical School, Stockholm University, Free University of Brussels and Roxbury Latin School. He worked at Cornell University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His awards include Guggenheim Fellowship, Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was buried at Canton Corner Cemetery.
