Biography of James Naismith

James Naismith (* 6. November 1861 in Almonte; † 28. November 1939 in Lawrence) was a kanadischer Arzt und Pädagoge sowie Erfinder der Sportart Basketball. He was 78 years old. His education included McGill University, Springfield College and Almonte and District High School. He worked at McGill University and University of Kansas. His faith was Catholicism. He received 4 awards, including Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, Ontario Sports Hall of Fame. He was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery.
