Jan Tinbergen (* 12. April 1903 in The Hague; † 9. June 1994 in The Hague) was a niederländischer Mathematiker und Wirtschaftswissenschaftler. He was 91 years old. He studied at Leiden University. He worked at Netherlands School of Economics, Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, Leiden University, Statistics Netherlands and Erasmus University Rotterdam. He received 10 awards, including honorary doctor of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Fellow of the American Statistical Association. He was buried at Oud Eik en Duinen.
