Biography of Jean Leclant

Jean Leclant (* 8. August 1920 in 14th arrondissement of Paris; † 16. September 2011 in Paris) was a französischer Ägyptologe. He was 91 years old. His education included École Normale Supérieure, École pratique des hautes études and University of Strasbourg. He worked at Collège de France, University of Paris, École pratique des hautes études and University of Strasbourg. He received 8 awards, including Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour, Commander of the National Order of Merit. He was buried at Montparnasse Cemetery.
