Yelena Bonner (* 15. February 1923 in Mary; † 18. June 2011 in Boston) was a human rights activist in the former Soviet Union; wife of dissident Andrei Sakharov. She was 88 years old. She was married to Andrei Dmitrijewitsch Sacharow. Her education included Saint Petersburg Lyceum 239 and Saint Petersburg State University. She received 10 awards, including Order of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, 2nd class, Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class. Her cause of death was heart failure. She was buried at Vostryakovo Cemetery.
