Joe Bowman (* 12. April 1925 in Johnson City; † 29. June 2009 in Junction) was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal. He was 84 years old. His education included University of Houston and Sam Houston Math, Science, and Technology Center. His awards include Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart and Eagle Scout. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Forest Park Cemetery.
