John Dewey (* 20. October 1859 in Burlington; † 1. June 1952 in New York City) was an uS-amerikanischer Philosoph und Pädagoge. He was 92 years old. He was married to Alice Chipman Dewey and Estelle Roberta Lowitz Grant. His education included Johns Hopkins University, University of Vermont and Burlington High School. He worked at University of Chicago, University of Michigan, Columbia University and University of Minnesota. His faith was religious humanism. His awards include Honorary Doctorate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Carus Lectures and doctor honoris causa from the University of Paris. He was buried at University of Vermont.
