Biography of John of Gaunt, 1. Duke of Lancaster

John of Gaunt, 1. Duke of Lancaster (* 24. June 1340 in Ghent; † 3. February 1399 in Leicester Castle) was a herzog von Lancaster und Guyenne. He was 58 years old. He was married to Blanche of Lancaster and Konstanze von Kastilien. He had at least 8 children (5 sons and 3 daughters). He was awarded the Knight of the Garter. He was buried at Old St Paul's Cathedral.
