José Zalaquett (* 10. March 1942; † 15. February 2020 in Santiago) was a chilean lawyer, academic, and researcher. He was 77 years old. His education included University of Chile - Faculty of Law and Instituto de Humanidades Luis Campino. He worked at University of Chile, University of Toronto, Harvard University, New York University, Amnesty International and Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. His faith was Catholicism. His awards include MacArthur Fellows Program, National Prize for Humanities and Social Sciences and UNESCO Prize for Peace Education.
